| You start with music made from the souls of people immersed in our countries worst economic depression, and
find that it is uplifting. You add old Country Gospel music, and you find that it is uplifting. Mix in the energy of a little Rock n Roll, and you find that it is uplifting. That is what the Walnut Brothers do.
TJ Walnut is the last remaining original Walnut Brother. TJ and his
two brothers Jake and Marvin played country & bluegrass music in the
style brought over from the “Dustbowl Depression” Era as taught to
them by Grandpa Walnut. Jake, unfortunately, was killed in action in
Vietnam. Marvin rolled his ’57 Ford which ended his life at the
tender age of 21. With the passing of Grandpa, The Walnut Brothers
were all but finished…
Years later, there was hope after all! TJ figured out a way to bring
back the old country/bluegrass style that his heart and soul yearned
for. His own two sons had learned to play mandolin, guitar and
harmonica. TJ enlisted the talents of his very own boys to carry on
the Walnut tradition. Junior Walnut and Shoestring Walnut stepped in
and a new chapter in the Walnut Brothers book was written…
Step back in time with The Walnut Brothers as they bring original and
traditional country and bluegrass standards to your ears eager for
that authentic, solid sound we have all missed since the days of Jake
and Marvin, and of course… Grandpa Walnut.
